Social Skills & Pragmatic Language Group

Service Description

This social and pragmatic language skills group is designed for children ages 8-12 that will target initiating and sustaining conversation in various scenarios; empathy/appropriate response to situations and/or emotions that a peer, family member or less familiar person is experiencing; turn-taking and appropriate responses in a group activity or game; reading and responding to facial expressions and voice tone of others as well as improved awareness of own individual facial expressions and voice tone; speaking in front of a group of peers or less familiar people; and real-life application of social skills to everyday tasks like ordering at a restaurant, making a phone call, or buying groceries. We will use tools including videotaping, role-play, and various social skill group curriculum to support each session. Each week will have a theme and a snack will be provided. Parents/caregivers will receive an itinerary following each session with specific feedback about their child to support in follow-up conversations and carryover to the home environment. This group is appropriate for children with social/pragmatic language delay, Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or other language delays.

To cancel your registration prior to the start of the session, please contact us a minimum of 3 days prior to the start. After that, no refunds will be issued.
